    Unhappy Its back!

well, after months of getting frustrated with ongoing medical issues surrounding my daughters history of juvenile arthritis that she had been clear of for nearly 2 and a half years I feel as though we have cursed ourselves!

I noticed my daughter developing a limp and she had a swelling on the top of her foot with a small bruise. Went to GP, not the consultant as thought with the bruise it couldn't surely be her arthritis again...he confirmed "no, perhaps a sprain" and ordered some blood tests just to be sure and would only contact us if something was wrong...no contact was made, YAY we thought!!! I took my daughter for her regular eye check last week and she has some inflammation on her eye (which is linked to arthritis)...too much of a coincidence I thought so immediately booked an appointment with her consultant. I had my worst fears confirmed that she has had a recurrence of arthritis in her foot and slightly in her knee, poor lamb...she fought this so hard last time!

So for now, we are back on anti-inflammatories with the intention of kick starting them with steroid injections in to the joints sometime soon. Hopefully we can nip it in the bud this time before it takes hold!!!

    ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))

    To you and your daughter.

I do hope that you get this under control fast and that it isn't causing her too much pain, though I can imagine the feelings and thoughts that must be swirling in your head at the moment, with concern for your daughter uppermost.

Thoughts go with you both for a speedy recovery.

oh no that doesn't sound comfortable, i hope you are able to get her feeling better very soon.
Is this likely to cause issues with your application too?

not really sure as the MA had declined her medical anyway so we are in the middle of applying for the waiver, have sent an email to our agent

Thanks everyone for your wishes. She is doing ok, I think its me and her dad that were more upset...seeing her limping the way she does breaks my heart but she has always coped and it doesn't stop her doing things.

I had a call from her Rheumatologist yesterday. They are going to get her in during the next couple of weeks and inject the affected areas with steroids. She normally goes in under a general anaesthetic but now she is 6 she has the option to be awake for the whole procedure and use gas and air. I discussed the options with her last night and she made the very brave choice of going for the gas and air and get it all over and done with. I think the thing that swung it was the fact she wouldn't be able to have any breakfast in the morning if she was going for the general...hahaha...she's her daddy's daughter alright!!!
