    Default in work/family tax credits

    Hi everyone
Just wondering if we qualify for the in work/family tax credits? Our children were born in Australia but my wife was born in New zealand. We found out about it and was just wondering if anyone knew about it. I am assuming we can get it but thought i would put it out there, might answer some other people's questions also.

If you have PR or citizenship, you can be eligible.

We aren't eligible for hardly anything really. The limits are very low. I was very disappointed to see so much go out and nothing come back in!!

I am going to take the annual lump sum payment so I don't actually owe them money due to OH working overtime.

Here is a link to take you to the info page and there is a calculator there as well.

    good luck!

thankyou for posting this, i was under the impression that because I don't have PR we would not be entitled but looking at this link it looks like actually we might be as OH and daughter are citizens. I am going to apply, i guess the worst they can do is say NO.

As far as I recall, between the two of us, my OH (as the citizen) had to apply, and then it was all fine.

    Good luck,

    Daniela

Yes it comes in handy for newcomers to NZ if you can get it.
