We're going to an all day event at Sky City, what are our best all-day-parking options, that won't cost us a gazillion dollars?

is it on a weekday or weekend, what time would you want to park, and would you mind a bit of walking? Some of the council carpark buildings have cheap all-day parking on weekends, and "early bird" weekday rates. Or you could park somewhere free on-street & walk/bus.

What about free parking at Devonport and catching the ferry? A very pleasant way to go in my opinion.

$5.00 per day

Doesn't sound too bad to me, and convenient?

Yup, Sky city does the cheap parking, but you need to remember to get your ticket validated

Thanks for all the responses.

We're looking for weekend parking, most likely early, and wanted to avoid the ferry and long walks due to it being a long day and us having a toddler in tow.

Sky City sounds great but it would be good to have a back up as it may be full with other people attending the event. Do you just get the ticket validated at the info desk or do you have to purchase something?

The Downtown Wilson carpark is $8 all day at weekends. It's the only place I ever park as it's easy to get to without driving through the centre and getting lost.

You need to eat, drink or gamble. They used to have a machine in the casino that you coul djust walk up to and validate the ticket at but this went away due to too many people doing that and not actually gambling!

I think, however, that you can validate at the casino tellers (? - not sure if that is what they are called - the place you get your chips from). Not sure if they need you to buy chips at the same time though (although then you can just rejoin the queue and cash them in!).

If you are there for a conference type thing then the info desk in the conference hall can also validate tickets.
