    Default container has arrived

Nine weeks to the day since we waved it off in the UK our container was delivered to us this morning, all 108 boxes unpacked and so far it all looks ok. Have spent the day putting things back together, finding screws and changing over plugs. MAF arrived an hour early and took less than five minutes to check our four bikes and vaccum cleaners and the xmas tree [apparently this is because people leave pine cones on them]. Now feeling very tired but very satisfied, just wish we couls watch the telly properly, signal is rubbish!

Just wondered which shipping company you used. Our container left the UK on the 6th August and i have just been told it will be delayed another few weeks till the end of October grrrr.

We used PSS - not sure why ours has taken so long.

    Good Luck

    Hi Bernie,

We used PSS too! But we had no delays. I think once it hits the cargo vessels it is at the mercy of the shipping companies and is sometimes delayed if there is priority cargo, bad weather etc.

It will be all the more sweet when you get the stuff from your container.

It is good when your container arrives, it finally feels like home.

Nice one upsidedown. I can't wait until our container arrives - maybe then it will start to feel real, rather than just like an extended holiday!

Bernie - as Mamee says, the containers are at the mercy of the shipping companies and weather which is beyond the mover's control. When we moved UK-USA our shipment couldn't leave Southampton when it was supposed to because of high winds, so that set us back at least a week. It will get here!
