Default Reasonably priced medicals in North of England?

We live in Sheffield and have just seen the cost of the local panel docs medicals. For the 6 of us (2 adults, 4 kids) it comes to over £1000!!

We expected it to be a lot with so many of us, but the reality has come as a bit of a shock.

Can anyone recommend a practice somewhere else that is reasonably priced? With the costs involved we would be willing to travel a fair way if it would make a difference!

    Thanks

    Christine

Pretty sure it needs to be a pannel doctor, radiologist etc that NZIS state:

We have worked on £900 for two of us, when we get an ITA.

Crikey £900 for two of you? Maybe I should suggest you come to Sheffield!

We've been quoted: Adult basic medicals £100, bloods £87, kids medicals £60. all plus vat which came in in Jan apparently and really bumps it up.

CXR's are £85 inc vat. As my eldest is 15 he needs one too.

    Total inc vat is £1080.

The medical centre doesn't accept credit cards either. Would be nice if they did, then we could pay it all off when we sell the house.

Sorry meant 900 NZD based info we were given and a little minor research, so say £400 give or take.

didn't know about the 0% VAT on medicals.

Have you tried quotes from any other companies?

It was just under £300 a pop all in for each of us in Manchester. Did take cards though, and it's all done on site in one day. St John Street Panel doctor that a few people of this forum have been to see.

    Thanks Duncan,

Was that including xrays, and with or without the VAT?

Sounds a bit better, especially if they take cards. Might give them a ring tomorrow.
