I just got back from a tramp in the Ruahines with some friends and I thought some of the pictures would be of interest to people. We were in the Manawatu-Wanganui region.

These are just from my snap shot camera, we'll have more once we get the rest off of my OH's camera.

Thanks for those.
Here's a few photos my OH took:
and for fun one of our group (minus the OH). I'm the one drinking from the water bottle if you're wondering.
Where did you guys go specifically on your tramp. The last one we did was the Maharahara Track which is one of the closer ones to Palmy. Pretty rough and overgrown so I do not recommend it.
Hrm, We were with an experienced tramper who's in search and rescue, he planned it all so I'm sure he knew what he was doing. Let me see if I can find a map.
Here we are:

We went half way to Iron gate hut where we tented.
There were some steep parts and some places were the track was only about a foot's width wide, but I was fine and it was my first tramp (though I'm in good fitness). Plus there were DOC workers there working on the trail.
There was also knee high river crossings so if you don't like wet boots it's not a good tramp for you.
Have you done the gorge track?
