Here http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...=&oq=&gs_rfai= is the result of a search for all mentions of Scouts on the forum to be going on with.

The Sea Scouts are very popular around our way:

I'm not sure how many teenagers stay on at Sea Scouts or how many progress to sailing clubs. There are lots of them around although some require you to get your own Optimist which can be expensive unless you're a real enthusiast, so worth looking for those that allow you to hire. Here's one in Auckland:

My son has joined Cubs and a Scout troop has just started. There are quite a few packs on North Shore. The availability of troops might vary around the country but you should have no trouble finding one in the larger urban areas.

    Hi
I just thought I would add to the teenage activities, my son's enjoy paintball, it's expensive. I'm glad to find this site because I am often wondering what we can do.. Almost everything I suggest, they're not interested.. but they did enjoy paintball http://www.paintballing.co.nz at Woodhill and the most concern was the safety aspect, and I was happy it is safe. They make them wear a helmet and I was hit a few times, and some I didn't feel, closer up it did sting but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is just really expensive. Sorry, unsure about Wellington, there might be one.
