    Default Your Woodburners / Fires

Found out a couple of snippets of info from the woodburner cleaner the other week that I thought might be helpful:

    1. Get your flues/burners/chimneys swept once a year (recommended) by a reputable sweep - you then get entered on their database and so if your house goes up in flames because of a chimney fire they have a record of the cleaning - if there is no record and chimney fire is cause of fire you may have probs claiming if you have no other proof it's been regularly maintained.

    2. Best way to clean the glass on the front of woodburners is to dip a damp cloth into the white ash residue in your burner and rub glass with it - works a treat - better than Mr Muscle glass cleaner anyway!!
