HELP needed with British passport renewal.

Hi all,

I am about to renew my British passport which expired in 2000!!

However my son who is now 19 travelled in on my passport(just hand written in).

I need to apply for a passport for him also.

Will my old passport be returned so I can use it for his application?

Or will he have to apply for one as if he's never had one?

We also need to have returning residents visas renewed and inserted into the new passports.

How do I go about that if my old one is with the old passport?

I do not seem to be able to find the right advice on the net on any official site. Hope you can help.

Here's hoping somebody on the forum has done some of the things you're talking about. In the meantime, I did a search for old threads, in case anything there is relevant.

In terms of the Returning Residents Visa you can get this transferred at one of the immigration centres. It doesn't take too long but you should be able to post it in if necessary too.

The immigration department will tell you where to send it - 0508 558 855

But if you have been here since 2000 you could always get yourself a NZ passport and not have to pay the exhorbitant fees to renew your UK one from NZ!
