Approval for NZ Citizenship received
Hi all,
I applied for PR in April 2005 and approved in principle in May 2005. The Department of Internal Affairs sent me a letter 2 days ago (which I received today) with this in the first line:
"Congratulations! The Minister of Internal Affairs has approved your application for New Zealand Citizenship."
I dropped my application off at the Central Auckland DIA office on 15 April 2010 and my documents were returned on 4 June. It was a very quick turnaround despite DIA getting a couple my of translations done within that timeframe, which took the longest I heard. The process was a real breeze actually, I didn't need to contact my CO at all and they didn't require any more info from me (I think they had enough paperwork as it is ).
If anyone else is about about to apply, the timeline I was quoted was 4 months.
