Orthodontist prices ??

We arrived 8 months ago and my eldest daughter had a fixed brace on her top & bottom teeth. It has cost us $3000.00 to complete her treatment It's expensive to have straight teeth in NZ.
Most people I know pay anything between $5000-$7000 for full treatment. My son needs braces but he'll have to wait, we need to build a house first

I've had my braces on for about 5 years now. I had them on just after my 13th birthday and now I'm 18! Treatment doesnt seem to be going to well for me! I was told I would need about three appointments more before I can have my braces off but I would miss my thrid appointment as I would be in NZ!

Would it be best to have the brace off early and risk my teeth not being totally straight or having to face the huge fees of having straight teeth in NZ!

Similar thing with our neighbours who have just arrived from the UK. I mentioned my daughters Orthodontist to them - I think their daughter had only 2 or 3 more treatments to go. I'll find out the cost as they should have looked into it by now and let you know!

Just spoke to the lady next door - she hasnt had her quote yet for the work to be completed. She is taking daughter next week so she will let me know when she finds out.

I just got an email from my sister saying her 14 year old's braces will cost £1,500 under the new rules in Wales!!

Our daughter has been seen by the school dental service and they agree she will need orthodontic treatement, but not for a few years yet as she's only 9.
Time to start saving

No worries, my next appointments not till the end of may so i have a few weeks to make up my mind about it all

We are still living in the UK at present, and hoping to move to NZ soon. My youngest daughter is seven and will definitely need braces when she is older. Our dentist in the UK reckons it will cost about £3000+, as there aren't many nhs orthadontists in our area anymore. Maybe NZ prices aren't so bad, I guess it depends on each individual case.

My 15 year old has just had his brace fitted and my bill was 7,000 paid over the next 2 years of his treatment at 200 dollars per month.
