How does the doctor decide that he needs to take blood to investigate anything further? I have seen on this and other forums where a person is within the range for bmi and waist measurement and they still had to give blood.
Not that I am too worried that there is something wrong with me, my bmi currently at 28 and waist measurement at 95cm's. I know that my cholesterol is about 5.5 from having blood tests at my gp a year ago. My mother died from a heart attack at 65 and my father is still alive and strong at the ripe old age of 87. I've had some minor operations like tonsils and my elbow being broken about 30 years ago. Do they need any medical records regarding these?
So the question is, based on this info is it likely that I will need to have fasting bloods done as well?
Thanks in advance.
