    Default MMR Vaccines in NZ??

    Hi all,

Does anybody know how this is managed in NZ, ie 3 x single jabs or the triple vaccine in one?

And if the triple vaccine in one, can you still get the single vaccines?

MMR (triple) vaccine is what is used. Despite the huge amount of media attention that this issue has received, there is no reliable scientific evidence of any benefit of single vaccines over the triple vaccine and the triple vaccine has a good history of reliability and safety. I don't believe that 3x single vaccines are even available in NZ.

DD is getting her 2nd dose of MMR tomorrow and the DPaV/whatsit..

I know she could get it in NZ in a year of so and it's a month early even in the UK, but it's just one more ticky box in the route to getting everything sorted before we go (to-do list item 12: get DD's "little red book" up to date).

That and I think she'll forgive me (or forget) quicker if we do it now when she's 3 rather than in a year!!

Mr Bump will be along to soothe any ouchies, and the trip to the nurse will be followed by something yummy and a trip to her favourite place (local petting farm).

Plus watchful mummy in case she does get tired/hot etc of course!
