Another Straight PR from Shanghai

Hi everyone
This morning our online status was changed from pending to APPROVED!!. Shortly thereafter my wife (principal applicant) received an e-mail from our case officers telling us that our application for a NZ residence visa has been approved in principle. Wow...wow.....
We are to submit our passports and pay the migrant levy within 6 months...
Well......I'm still trying to absorb all this!!! Really a life altering event I must say.
On a serious note, we couldn't have done it especially in preparing the interview without all the information posted here. To that we owe our gratitude to everyone here.
On a separate note, for those whose application is with Shanghai and Beijing, pls take heart and do look at the statistics of approval for this financial year ie Jul, Aug and Sept. You will note that the approval rate on average has gone up from 15% last financial year to about 50% the first 3 months of this financial year!!! I suppose the things has changed especially the start of this year.

Our EOI was selected in Apr 2009 and we submitted our ITA on 29 Jul 2009 (lodgement date). Since then there was no news until an e-mail from our CO in Apr 2010 saying our application has been assigned to her. We then received 2 email in Sept 2010 with the first one asking for additional info and saying she has completed preliminary assessment and a second e-mail saying assessment completed and invitation for interview. Our interview was on 12 Oct, interview report sent to us to comment 5 days later. We sent back our comments on 25 Oct and got this news on 1st Nov, exactly 5 working days later.....
What a ride....all one it took us 20 months from EOI submission to approval.....
