I am sorry--I have been trying to keep my big mouth shut but I am just too impulsive. Forgive me if you think I should mind my own business.
But since you can't locate any soya mince anyway, maybe you will be glad to know that it is really unhealthy.
I was a vegetarian for years (currently eating meat as OH and kids are carnivores and I gave up with separate meals) and have eaten heaps of the TVP. That is why I was so interested in the soy information.
Soy is bad for your health unless it is fermented.
Here are a couple of links to get you started in case you are interested in reading more about it:

No offense intended!
Thanks but I've read all that stuff before.

Thanks Bob - going to Lower Hutt tomorrow to meet MAF so will check those out while we're there. Cheers!
Not sure if you guys in NZ are getting it but you can now get a limited range of Quorn products in OZ....My son is very much a happy bunny now he can get his beloved Quorn.
Hi,
Not often I look at the forum these days but saw your post just today.
I get Lotus Textured Soy protein from Hardys health shops. Last pack was $5.70 for 200g. They don't always have it as according to the assistant as soon as it is on the shelf someone comes in and buys the lot... well they do in Paraparaumu! May pay to ask if you can't find it.
On the subject of Frys products I am totally into their chicken style strips, great for stir fry, fajitas etc. Again they are not easy to find and only my small local New World (Otaki) has them.
Hope this helps
Karen
Thanks for all the help! x
