Junior school is Years 0-2 I believe, and senior school would be Years 3-6 or something like that. LTR stands for Long Term Reliever - usually a duration from one term to a full year. Scale A refers to a regular teaching position - no special duties.
These are from my recollection :-)
Amy.
Senior school can be up to year 8.
Our school has
junior - yrs 1 to 3
middle - yrs 4 to 6
senior - yrs 7 to 8.
Probably best to check with the school itself. Ours is from Years 1-8, but calls year 0-4 Juniors, 5-6 Seniors, and then 7-8 Intermediate.
I'm sure if a few more people respond, we'll get some more variations

This is helpful. I just wanted to make sure that my certification matched the age group.
I am so curious about education in NZ. I've been doing some research, but would love to hear from those who are already teaching there.
Again, thanks for your answers.
Mine has yr 0-8 and calls 0-3 junior and the rest senior, which I think is stupid and they should have a middle.
Ours has Yr 0 to Yr 3 = Juniors. Yrs 4 to 6 = Seniors. Yrs 7 and 8 are Middle School.
