    Default assimilate or leave?

in light of recent threads and mulling more than posting, i cant see that there is a third way although some forum members try to distract the reader to perceive that there might be.

Too cryptic for a left of the curve person like me.

Nah, there is a 3rd way, just be yourself - you'll be amazed how easy it is to be accepted even when you're a little left of square or different or whatever.
Once you stop worrying you'll be fine!

No, not to me. Assimilating sounds more like you're actively trying to fit in (not necessarily a bad thing !) while being accepted is more about being relaxed and happy with who you are. The being accepted bit is a bonus!

I think that it is a case of accepting. For some of us we have to be assimilated into a culture to achieve this, for others it is accepting the differences, for others it is probably accepting what we are and where we are. Some may not be able to come to terms with it and will leave. Celebrate Diversity! If we all liked the same things we might find the things that we do overcrowded and overpriced!!

It's now officially a slug. Caterpillar was last week.

Still totally confused. Not helped byt the fact that I can't read assimilate without going into a Doctor Who voice.
