............and we love it!!!!!
The air is fresh, the taste of food is amazing compared to that in the U.S. I spent my childhood in Eastern Europe and only when we go there to visit the grandparents do we get to taste those fresh, orange-y eggs...well, they have them here too
When we left Seattle it was starting to snow!!! I feel so sad for the friends left behind but happy and warm over here.
From the moment we landed we felt like home!!!
People are really nice, weather is amazing,we actually swam in the Ocean the first day! Couldn't believe how warm the water was and summer didn't even start yet.
We went to Hawaii in June and the water was much colder than it is here in November!!!
We visited a couple of schools on the North Shore and will visit a few more this week.
I was very impressed with my husband driving on the left side of the road for the first time from the airport to home. We were at the airport asking ourselves : should we take a taxi or should we rent a car and give it a try?
Well, it is not as bad as you'd think....we just wiped the windshield a few times on a sunny day, but other than that no big deal. You can do it
Food is a bit more expensive than in the U.S. but I can see why. Way better quality!
In the U.S. we used to bake bread at home. Here, I think I'll quit baking bread
Alcohol is prohibitively expensive, in the NZ$40 range for the cheapest.
For all in the process of moving here I wish them the best and good luck in making the best move of your life! You will love it here!
