Well we've arrived after living for a month out of suitcases and relying on family and friends.....talk about feeling homeless!! Singapore was hot and humid and very wet, Sydney was a big city!!
We have a house, thanks to my cousin, with lemons, grapefruit and avocados etc growing in the garden, unbelievable coming from the UK!!! Have made 3 batches of homemade lemonade already....... mmmmmm.
You know something the world is a small place, having listened to the radio and watched the TV, sometimes you could be in the UK, except for the weather of course brrrrrrrrr, sorry those of you in the UK, it’s 22 and sunny at the moment.
Can’t get into the Christmas mode, just seems wrong, it’s not cold enough!
Our dog arrived 2 days after us and she’s adapted so well, I’m sure she thinks she’s on holiday, not sure when she will realise this is it......., perhaps when our home contents turn up!
Everything has gone very smoothly to date, all we are waiting for now is our container to arrive on the 13th, let’s hope MAF and Customs aren’t on a slow down up to Christmas eh!
All things considered it has been a seamless transition, thank god for Skype, when the broadband works ok, it’s great to be able to keep in touch with family and friends back in the uk, however we realise that all the talk of sun, warm, hot tubs, beaches etc., might be a bit off putting, so we’ve decided to tone down and be more sympathetic to the weather back home.
Even better we are thrashing the Aussies at cricket and the Kiwis love it too!!!
Good luck to all those who are waiting to come........xx
