    Default Shoes size conversion tables!

I've just been listing a load of shoes I no longer wear on trademe and I was struggling to work out what size category I should be listing them under

I realised most were listed in US sizes with UK or European sizes in brackets when the size in known.

Anway, I finally came across this excellent shoes size conversion table which I though would come in handy for others, and shows why it's practically impossible for a direct conversion between different sizing systems. I also found that over half the the conversion tables I googled were very inaccurate indeed.

I wish I'd found this 3 years ago as it would have saved me a lot of hassle

Weird.....I have absolutely no idea why the other link is there rather than this one I copied and pasted? Thanks for spotting the mistake though

I have always found the NZ and US sizing system to be the same for shoes...

    it is all very confusing!
I tend to try them on and only buy if they fit, but even with that i've been caught out once and have a pair that don't really fit!

I think because so much stuff here in imported, many places selling shoes do use US sizes, but I've recently found that a lot of regular clothes shops that also sell footwear tend to use UK sizes these days. I don't think either way is a particular problem....I think the issues crop up when somewhere buys shoes that are sized using one system, but they market and sell them using the sizes from another system because there are overlaps between the sizes and some sizes have no direct conversion because of this.

I cannot call what there is a US "system"! Having four different tables is IMHO kind of ridiculous.

hehe... I never know what my shoe size is, esp after I had my daughter and feet got wider, so buying sandals meant I had to go up two sizes so I would fit the width! I went bowling today and had to take my shoes back twice

    Good luck FOM!

Thats my problem....I've got a ton of nice shoes I've barely worn from the days of posh work PR events and not one pair comfortably fits me since having kids as my feet have got wider. But unless I list the size really accurately on trademe, I end up getting people asking me to measure the insides with a tape measure which is really faffy. So far, pretty much everyone who has bought the shoes has been from UK.

Do K-mart and Farmers have those shoe size measurement tools that we can use? Haven't seen them around..
