Hi,
I am a UK psychiatric nurse with 10 years specialist experience, postgraduate qualifications, and a job offer for the BOPDHB, and am currently negotiating the NCNZ professional registration process. My question is this (I have already asked the NCNZ with no reply):
as part of Project 2000, a very small number of British nurse training courses were offered which were only 2 years in duration as opposed to the regular 3 for graduates in relevant degree disciplines (mine was in psychology). Is this likely to cause problems with my registration application (which I sent off this week, having taken 5 months to get all the documentation together!)? As an additional potential problem, I was not able to get my original psychology degree notarised in time to get the application off before the snow and christmas shut everything down, although i was able to get a subsequent masters degree in psychological therapies notarised.
The answer to this question is still important despite my having already sent off the aplication, as we are having to commit more and more money to our dream move on a daily basis, and I would rather call a halt to the whole spending money thing (which would mean the job offer lapsing, due to consequent delays) if the NCNZ are likely turn around and say my original nurse qualification doesnt meet their criteria, and I am not eligable for registration with them.
many thanks for any help or your experiences, especially if you did a nurse qualification in only 2 years!!
