    Smile Airport to Howick

What's the best and cheapest transport means from the Airport to Howick for a family of 4 with a number of luggages?

    Thx

I'm guessing that a taxi would be the simplest, quickest and probably the cheapest for your party.

Checking using www.maxx.co.nz reveals a minimum two bus journey of nearly an hour & a half with the cheapest fare being $9 per adult. By comparison, Google Maps has a single car (ie Taxi) journey estimated at 35 minutes.

Do you really want to subject your family to such a journey after hours of flying?

I paid $70 for a cab fare from the airport to the CBD, a journey time approx half an hour, when I arrived in August. I did have three large suitcases and I didn't fancy trying to get them on to one bus let alone two.

BTW I would still choose the same means of transport if I had to do the same journey with the same baggage. With less luggage, then the AirBus Express http://www.airbus.co.nz/ is a great service for the CBD.

I have no real info for Auckland but in Christchurch there are shuttles with little trailers they pull behind them to accommodate luggage.

I think it was like $5 each to go to the CBD in Chch from the airport.

    FAR cheaper than a taxi!!

    Doesn't AKL have something similar?

Auckland does indeed - they go from the taxi rank outside the airport (ie just as you come out of the door). No idea on prices as it's been a while since I got one; 4 of us and all our luggage got one to the wharf in the CBD for the Waiheke ferry. I recall that it was cheaper than a taxi, could fit all our luggage and was much less time than getting the airlink bus. Have a look here.

Just did it 2 nights ago, it was $100 for 5 of us (just us cost more to have it to ourselves) and 17 cases. Well worth it the lady was lovely and told us what the areas were as we drove through and stopped off at a garage for us to get essentials. Plus you can book online, we then emailed to confirm they could get us all in.

Requested a quote from both service providers.

It costs NZ$72 from Hwick to Akl. Will proceed for booking.
Manage to save 1 NZ$ from one of them .

    Thanks to you all.
