hi all, where in new zealand is the best weather north or south and how much of a difference is there
http://www.wunderground.com/history/...q_statename=NA This is a web page that shows you the exact weather there has been every day last month, and you can go back over previous months to see what the weather is like all through the year. You can also change the settings to look at other places in NZ.
thnx again jandm
ian was wanting alls opinion on the sunniest climate in new zealand
thanks
A very broad question! think you need to be more specific
Do keep a tab on humidity & UV levels as well if that's within your likeable taste.
I think Auckland has been quite humid since December, 10 mins walk is enough to wet your shirt (or may be I walk at a very high speed). For this very reason, I have changed my gym timing to 6am instead of 5pm and of'course to take maximum advantage of day light.
The further north you go, the closer to the equator. This means (generally speaking) more sunshine and higher summer temps... but also more humidity and likelihood of catching a tropical storm (or its tail end). Also tends to be worse for asthma sufferers (I'm told).
Personally I'm liking the Chch climate, as it seems to be much like my hometown (Bournemouth) - sunny enough, and occasionally scorching, but mostly quite temperate. You'll see far more homes kitted out with air-con than in southern England though, and hardly any with central heating (which seems to be a very weird concept to most Kiwis). The other bonus of Chch is that the skiifields won't be far away come winter
I do not agree!
Please have a look here e.g. re sunshine hours: http://www.niwa.co.nz/education-and-...imate/overview ;
furthermore re mean and extreme values check these http://www.niwa.co.nz/education-and-...limate/summary and http://www.niwa.co.nz/education-and-...limate/extreme
I stand corrected
