    A few suggestions:

Airline tickets/boarding cards for trips taken together,
    pictures from trips together,
car insurance if naming both as covered drivers, title of car if in both names,
lease for any of the residences in joint names,
life insurance policies with partner's name as beneficiary,
any official letter addressed to both,
any employment record showing the other partner as emergency contact/next of kin, etc.

how did you keep your relationship going?

    just tell them!

Did you Skype, or text or phone each other regularly?

Did you send birthday cards or flowers?
