Default Partner less than 100 points - Does it matter?

    Hi,

As a principal applicant I am hoping to claim 115 points once I have a
    job offer.

My girlfriend will be applying as my partner on my application she has less than 100 points.

    Does this matter?

    Any help

Partners don't claim points, you get soem extra points assuming they have qualifications and speak english, but there's only one point scoring application.

    Hello and welcome.

Your partner will get Residence along with you if your application is successful, provided you can show you have had a live-in relationship for 12 months or more. See INZ site for details of proving relationship. If you haven't been together for 12 months yet, and you gain Residence, you can sponsor her for a work permit so she can accompany you, and when you have built up the 12 months of proof, then apply for her Residence.

    Hi,

That sounds ok. But we have lived together since July '10
We have documents in the form of a tenancy agreement from october '10
We have been dating seriously since September '09

What is involved in sponsorship - is it very involved. I think her points would be under 100 points as a lone applicant.

Do i then leave her off my EOI???

thank you very much for your advice so far.

We are limited in terms of what we can say as to advise someone you need to be licensed. However, you will see many tales on here fo people that have gone through the process as the principal applicant with their partner listed. Now that does assume they meet the 12 month rule, which of course you would do if you waited until June / November to apply and you may see that as being the sensible way forward. If nothing else, it would give you that little more time before you go through the stress of immigration together.

The tenancy agreement is from the 19th october last year.
That is the only thing official living together.

I am irish she is South african living in London I flew over there
twice from Ireland and stayed the 3rd time. She has visited Ireland
twice. (3/4 day trips STARTING sept 09 )

I HAVE been with her from the start of July.. but no paperwork to prove it....
Only a one way ticket to Londonon July 2.

I cannot wait until October 19th of this year

Any help or way around this - please help me!

Given that you haven't submitted your EOI yet and don't have the additional points that come with securing a job before applying, you may be looking at a bit of a wait anyway to get trought the application process anyway. Have a look at people's timelines - usually in their signatures. That'll give you some idea of the varying lengths of time it has taken different people to get from application to Blue stickers in the passport (it does vary from person to person).

You may have to cultivate patience, I'm afraid. Unless you want to take the leap of faith and go over to try to bag a job and then apply.

    My plan is
    A.get job offer
    b.submit EOI
c.secure work permit on the back of job offer
d.wait submit ITA when I am there

My partner is the problem.......our relationship in NZIS eyes will not be valid as we have not lived together for 1 year.

I really do not want to wait another 9 months and start again as my age may
    become an issue.

Anyone with advice on sponsorship once PR has been attained for my
    lovely girlfriend?

You cannot sponser your girlfriend until you have been a permanant resident and lived in NZ for 3 years.

Excuse me, but this isn't correct. There is a form of sponsorship which enables a partner to get a Temporary Work Visa. See this link for details. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...milystream.htm
