Default Good Page Treaty of Waitangi

Hi, I was trawling around the INZ page and found this Treaty of Waitangi link - it seems more straightforward than anything I'd been able to find before and it may help people for those dreaded "Treaty of Waitangi" questions that are (allegedly) thrown at you in interviews.

    http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rd...de01Treaty.pdf

    Hope it helps

As referenced in that document, the display at Te Papa is also a very good introduction if you are in Wellington.

    Default www.treatyofwaitangi.govt.nz

I rate this web site very high: www.treatyofwaitangi.govt.nz

Some time ago I also got some very good material from them when they toured NZ with an exhibition truck.

Thank you for this, I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who spent some time living in Invercargil, and it really hit me that my expperience of New Zealanders has been a little one sided. I met loads of people form NZ when I ws travelling, but no Maoris. This will be great for us, especially the kids. We homeschool here so I think we'll spend some time on this over the next while.... Now, where can I get free online Maori lessons

Shones, it was on Sunday night on TV1 I think and was just called Treaty of Waitangi - you could probably get it on TV on Demand if in NZ... It was quite a light-hearted drama around the process and players involved in the Treaty and the signing ceremony - the narration was quite amusing

Was quite a controvertial programme due to the lighthearted approach to something that's still a very serious issue. I guess in the same way of Michael Moore's Farenheit 911 in the US, or heading towards the Brass-Eye programme a few yeas ago in the UK.
