North Island Locations

Hi, I have been looking closely at North Island as a destination for my family and particular north of Auckland, such as Russell or Paihia.

Does anyone have any suggestions or sound advice on these locations.

Are there any constraints because of needing to find work of any particular kind?

No real constraints, electrically trained and trying to get into Refridgeration and Air Conditioning with possibably a small side-line in domestic whites repairs.

Kerikeri is FAB! Lovely "small" town. Friendly people

Paihia - V. Touristy

Russell - you would generally always have to catch the ferry to go anywhere (Russell itself very small) or otherwise drive for miles. Something big to consider with a family.

KeriKeri IS a great town! for us..it's the "big town" because we live further north of KeriKeri and that is the last "big" small town when heading north until you get to Kaitaia....and frankly, keriKeri has better shopping etc than Kaitaia...and a better environment in general. good luck!

Thanks for your advice, I will delve a little bit deeper and try to look at another couple of locations.
