Red face Work visa (accredited employer) bring car

    Lads,

Just wondering if anyone has brought their car with them in NZ under the temp work visa(accredited employer) 30 month visa. I am referring to the personal requirements from tax and registration point of view, wherein it doesn't specifically say about temporary visa, all it says is permanent residency and/or more than 12 months or more visa? any idea? where does temp visa category falls?

    cheers...

We brought our car (owned for several years in the UK) over on a WTR visa - in simple terms, anyone issued with a visa over 12 months is treated the same as someone with PR. We were no required to pay GST

    Or lasses!
We brought our car with us and we have the accredited employer (talent) visa valid for 30 months. No problems with that, you have to had owned the car for (I think!) 2 years and not sell it on in NZ for another year. You will need to check the specifics but it is definitely OK and not a problem.

We'd still be in Scotland if I had left the organising up to my husband.

Sorry, that's the part I left to 'him indoors' to sort out........... plus it's over 2 years ago and money was going out quicker than water from a tap at that point on various immigration aspects.

Because cars are expensive in NZ, because it depends on where you moved from and because we are not all millionaires.
