    Default Email from NZ Recruitment firm looking for UK recruits

    I received the following email from an NZ recruitment firm. The firm that recruited me from Australia actually. Thought it could be of some interest to people here. Hope I have posted in the right section:

    ----------------------------------------

    Have you got friends, family or former work mates in the UK who would like to relocate to New Zealand and continue their career in the ICT industry? If so, we'd love to meet them! We are sending a team to the UK for the Opportunities in New Zealand Expo (London on 26th & 27th March) to meet people who are ready to make the move. We'd appreciate it if you could pass on this email to them and ask them to email info@potentia.co.nz if they are keen to meet with us in London. We have also attached a complimentary ticket so they can visit us at the expo.
    Run by immigration and employment specialists Working In these expos focus solely on helping individuals and their families move to New Zealand, and the Potentia team will be there to actively recruit ICT professionals to make the move down under. See here for further details - http://www.expo-newzealand.com/uk.aspx
    The Expo is not only a great opportunity for your friends and family to get their move off to a strong start by meeting us in person, they'll also be able to access information about all aspects of emigrating to New Zealand and meet with licensed immigration consultants who can help map their entire visa and relocation strategy. This expo makes the process a lot easier and the idea of moving becomes a much more attractive option.
    So, spread the word. Let your people know about my people - and hopefully they'll be joining you for a seafood BBQ at the beach very soon!
    And for you personally, if there's anything we can help with please don't hesitate to give us a call or flick through an email.

    @Vicked - Thanks for posting .
    From my last 3 experience what I have learnt is that the recruitment firm like absoluteIT,recruitIT came for the expos in order to make you aware of the New Zealand job market ,how the candidate should prepare himself for the interview , expectation of the employer from the candidate ..etc. The main focus of such seminar is for helping people in different aspect like immigration,transfer of goods ,currency services .
    There won't be any recruitment happens in these seminars. But what I heard from this working-in group some potential employer are coming to the expo . They are basically CHCH. please call them and confirm ..are they really coming if you are buying tickets only for the ITjobs .
    Sometime back they have posted the same advt in seek.Below is the link.

    @samay

    We had pretty much guessed that much but figured it couldn't hurt to have a look around for a couple of hours. Plus we get to go to the museums in the afternoon which is always a treat in London

    Good to have these little things occasionally while we wait for our ITA to be processed...

    @aziramai
    My point is not to expect much out of the expo. Providing job offers are their second may be third priority.
    The last time someone(licensed immigration advisor) was explaining the point system in a such a complex manner ,person who are not into it will think better to go for a service from these advisor rather than digging into it. In one way ,it is their job to confuse people and so that people will go for their service.

    We got an email from an employer (not agent) we had already been in touch with who asked if we would meet with them at this expo - has this been anyone else's experience?

    Is that employer from IT sector or Health Sector ? I got call from recruiter not from employer .
    Have you already booked your tickets for the expo?
    If you won't mind could you please share the employer name if it is from IT ?

    No worries. I can email anyone the "complimentary ticket" they mention in the email. Although, I'm sure if you contact them and say you want to meet, they'll give you a ticket. I have no idea if they're hard to get!
