OH and I are a few months into the trying-to-figure-it-all-out process and have come to the conclusion that we need to start selling up first and then trying to apply for jobs from the UK (we need a job offer to be able to submit an EOI as we don't have enough points otherwise). I know, though, that it can be a bit of a catch 22 trying to do this and being in NZ would dramatically increase the odds of landing a job. So phase two, if no job could be got from the UK, would be for OH to go out on a recce and line up as many interviews as possible and then hopefully get a good offer, return to the UK and then start the EOI process from there. However, OH suggested today that once we've sold we just head out on a tourist visa and hope for the best. Obviously the risk is that we don't find anything and then have to head home and start again but he was thinking that since we have 6 months on a tourist visa then that should be enough time and if not we then we would be heading from whether we were on a tourist visa or on a PR visa.

Is this a crazy idea?! Has it worked for anyone?
