    Default All the 'what-if's'!

I'm putting my house on the market in one month.

    eek!

I suspect it will sell quickly.

I'm good at eating words if this doesn't happen but it could happen.

If so, I could be in a dilemma as I have commitments for the next couple of months and wouldn't be able to leave for NZ until August at the earliest.

    My choices are:

Put my furniture and belongings in storage here.

Then a few months later, have the int'l shipping company pack and ship everything from the storage unit.

Have the int'l shipping company pack and ship everything and put it in a storage unit in NZ.

What would you do and why? Thanks.

I personally would probably put it in storage and then ship it later, as I'd imagine storage to be cheaper in the US, but also, and mainly, because should anything break or go missing during the shipping process,

I believe this would need to be reported within a certain time of its arrival at its destination, which you might not be able to do if you were arranging for it all to go in storage in NZ.

I had them pack it and store it at their warehouse in Southampton.

Besides you need someone in NZ to sign for it if you're not here.

Ah - thanks....all good points. I guess it would be cheaper to have the int'l shipping co pack it then put it in storage in the U.S. Will check into rates. Thanks.
