Hi,

I'm currently working in a school for children with severe and complex needs in the UK, and specialise in working with children with severe Autusm.

Does anyone work in a similar setting in New Zealand? If so, are you aware of any jobs that are available?

I've got a visa in place and flights are booked for July 30th.

Yes, I work in a similar school in Hamilton. Specifically what job are you looking for - teaching, therapy or support work? Jobs come up in teaching in my school, about 3 a year, mostly at the end of the year.

Not that I know of right now - one teacher is leaving at the end of this term, but has already been replaced. It may be worth sending your CV to as many Special School Principals as possible, as jobs often come up, and they will keep you on file. There are 2 special schools in Hamilton - Hamilton North School and Patricia Avenue School. There are lots of Special Schools in Auckland, and I should imagine it's the same in all the big cities.
