we've lit the log fire tonight- very cosy - and have been having the heat pump on for an hour or so in the morning.

Yes, wood burner on and electric blanket on the bed along with the new Possum and Mink blanket.
A girl needs to be warm!

Girls are wearing their fleecy PJ's for the first time tonight. Electric blankets are on, and so is the electric fire. Sadly I've left it too late to realise that we don't have any wood pellets in, so will need to get stocked up on those before I can get the fire running. Was fairly warm whilst the sun was shining though, despite the strong winds.
Nearly finished knitting DD1's aran jumper, then perhaps I'll knit myself some bed socks
Not yet, no. Our house is quite warm, so hoping to stave off heaters till, oh, at least tomorrow (Only because I won't be here tomorrow!)
We're testing out our swanky new pellet fire tonight - installed just in time for a night when it's predicted to drop to 2C!!
We have so much wood stored that we are quite gung-ho about fires, so we had our first one on a chilly night in March, and then every now and then since. Today we lit it at 2pm as we were freezing, and it is still roaring now.
So has any one switched on the All Blacks Rugby Player they have nailed to their wall?

Alas, no heating at all in current rental and right now we're missing the toasty warm woodburner we had in our previous rental in Canterbury. We do have some electric halogen heaters packed away somewhere, but the windows and doors of this house are so draughty, it feels like a waste of money to turn them on. Still, I've put winter duvets on all the beds this evening and chucked our winter quilts over the top and the kids have all gone to bed in their winter pj's. I'm sat here wearing fleece socks, trying to mentally prepare myself for the fact that it's going to get a lot colder indoors during July-August and I need to harden up. I also need to find my beanie hats before it gets any colder
LOg burner has been on a couple of times in the last week, plus the heat pump has been on a couple of times in the morning recently. On the subject of Christchurch log burners Ecan is being fairly pragmatic this year.....
