    Default Shop opening hours restrictions

http://www.dol.govt.nz/er/holidaysan...ning-hours.asp provides the legal basis for the restrictions on

    "Shop opening hours

There are 3 ½ days when almost all shops are required to be closed under the Shop Trading Hours Repeal Act 1990. These days are:
    Christmas Day
    Good Friday
    Easter Sunday; and
    Anzac Day, until 1.00 pm"

Should this still be kept or should it be be released... A question asked in our newspaper. What is your vote - and why?!

I'm not in the slightest religious, but I say yes, definately. It really reinforces that the day is a public holiday, and not a day for another 'Harveynormous day with a d in it' sale.

What about the other public holidays that are treated differently?

Wish I had read the comments before voting- that way I could have voted Not sure.

They still deserve a holiday, just unlikely to get one.

Oh, I voted 'no'. I don't want to go shopping on public holidays, but I like knowing I can if I want to at Easter - not Christmas day though. That would be weird.
