Hi, I don't know about immigration lawyers but it might be worth talking to refugee services in Auckland to see if they have any recommendations on who to talk to, or can put you in contact with other people who have been in the same situation.

As far as I know they mainly deal with quota refugees under the UNHCR programme, but there have definitely be some family reunification cases.

Thanks a lot Jeffanar for your post, I really appreciate it. Is that link is goverment agency or it is private one? I just caution and I do not want to be a victim of fraud or anything like that.

    Thanks once again

Protea Pacific (now called Immagine - www.immagine.co.nz) handled our application - ethical and above board all the way.

Refugee services is an agency that assists refugees settle in New Zealand, I volunteered as a support worker for a refugee family with them last year. I don't know what their involvement is outside the UNHCR programme but I would suggest calling or emailing them to see if they can offer you any advice or recommend an immigration lawyer.

We applied for permanent residence via the skilled migrant category.
