Default Can anyone help with Teacher salary scales?

    Hi all,

Qualifications have been assessed, have registered with NZTC and have been given STC.

Have now got a fixed term contract.

Ive got a BA Hons and PGCE.

Have been teaching in the UK for 7 years and currently hold a leadership role.

Do I need to complete another application to find out what my salary will be?

Can anyone estimate what I will be earning?

Will be working in a special school as a senior teacher.

    Thanks in advance.

    :-)

If your position is in a public school you will need to complete this form: http://www.schoolpayroll.govt.nz/Sit...ore/ESP7t.aspx

If your position is in a private school your salary is negotiable between you and your employer (usually a bit higher than the public pay rate).

    Hope that helps :-)

    Thanks Amy!

I believe it is a public school.

Have had a look at the form, think it will probably be better to do once I arrive. That way I can get my new school to certify all of the documents they need and will also have a tax number.

If anyone is able to give me a rough idea of how much I will be earning that would be great!

    Thank you! :-)

I'd guess somewhere between 60 and 70k. May be more with the senior teacher bonus.

Tried to attach a salary calculator I found somewhere that I used before, but it wouldn't attach. You might do a Google search using keywords "salary calculator" "ministry of education" etc. etc. There's something out there. It takes into account your assessed level, years of experience, etc. Cheers.

You could also go here to get a very general idea:

    Hi,

Here'e a link to the the Secondary Teachers collective agreement 2011-2013, it has the complete payscale in there for teachers entering with various levels of qualifications:

    http://www.ppta.org.nz/index.php/eve...stca-2007-2010

It's part 4 - salary scales you want to look at.

    Cheers,
    Chris
