I've had some say to take advantage of the flight over and do a stop over somewhere...some have suggested Fiji even. Thoughts?
In the olden days, there were no LAX > AKL non-stops. We always had to stop in Fiji or Tahiti. IMHO, the non-stops are SO much easier - that is unless you want to spend at least three days in either place. LAX > AKL is 11-12 hours, depending on head winds, etc. If you break the trip, I'd do it in L.A.
