Default Petrol down to $1:99.9 this morning.

I noticed this morning that petrol has just dropped below $2.00 for the first time in a long while... well 0.001c below, at least it's a step in the right direction.
It was $1.57 when I got here 3 1/2 years ago.

If memory serves me correctly it was closer to $1.40 when I rocked up 4.5 years ago. I'll be filling up this morning for sure!

I remember that outcry too, when the prices jumped 1.50!

and on the day after, the prices will drop further - according to one of Murphy's laws won't they.

Were paying round about £1.35 in the UK at the moment! £10 used to last me for a weeks commuting (10k round trip to work 5 days, a trip to the supermarket and then some pottering about) its at least £15 now. Ouch.

Just done a 460km trip to Auckland and back in a works diesel focus. Filled up when I got back - $38.04

Seriously rethinking the petrol Pajero which is $100 for the same trip!

Back in 04-05 when we lived in NZ..I think it was 1.25 L.

We have a 2005 Honda Jazz 1.5L (gas)...42L tank gets roughly 650-700km per tank. Or roughly 5.9 to 6.2 Litres per 100km.

I asked a friend what his Subaru Forester gets per 100km. I was stunned when he said it gets around 12L per 100km.

Check my math Duncan..I think your getting around 5.4L per 100km? Based on Diesel being 1.49/L. I can't factor in how much more the diesel road tax adds the cost per 100km.

$1.13 when I got here eight years ago!

It's $1.96 at the Gull on Te Ngae Rd, Rotorua.

That occurred to me earlier so I decided to be smart and wait until tomorrow.

I have just realized that this surely means prices will rise overnight ... it's as bad as watching the exchange!
