Blip, another year gone by.
Not much has changed since my 2 year post except that OH has qualified as a teacher and was lucky enough to get a job at our local Middle School, where our DD goes. To say it's a steep learning curve for him is an understatement but some of that is because of who he is and how extremely conscientious he is! He'll learn to not think, breathe, eat, sleep teaching 24/7 to the detriment of everything else, family included!
Neither of us has a permanant job, yet, although I am now fully registered as a teacher and have stayed at the same school.
Kids all happy; DD2 has absolutely thrived at the Middle School for 2 yrs. DD1 is changing schools in order, partly, to do the International Baccalaureate which we feel will give her more options later on, than NCEA. DS is happy as a sand boy, moved up a yr at school and is doing well at everything.
I'm happy but exhausted at working full time and doing more of the domestic stuff as OH plans, prepares and hunts for resources all the time. Work/life balance is clearly not right at the moment but we'll work on it.
Have explored more of this beautiful country including at last, a very successful house swap to Rotorua. This year we're off to explore some of Oz on a 3 week swap. Still VERY keen to house swap in school hols, if ayone is interested?
Had more family visitors. No plans to go for a visit to the UK.
Still got living by the coast in my mind ....but who knows when!
