    Hello and welcome.

I've never done an organized tour, so can't recommend a specific one, but there are various things here. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...i=g10&aql=&oq=

    Day 1
    1. Do the bus tour leaving from the ferry terminal at the bottom of Queen Street at the top of the hour.

    2. Visit to Smith & Caughey on Queen Street.

    3. Then visit a bar/ restaurant or two in the Viaduct.

    Day 2
    1. Do the same bus tour filling in on the places you missed on Day 1

    2. Skip this step

    3. Re-visit the Viaduct to vist any bar / restaurant missed on Day 1

    Day one,

Get the 769 bus from Tyler St. next to the transport centre on the hour. It will trundle around the bays, get out at St. Heliers village, have a coffee or whatever you feel like. Return any time, if you still have time left in your day take a ferry across to Devonport.

    Day two,

Take the Waiheke ferry, when you arrive at the Waiheke wharf take one of the buses conveniently waiting there and do a cheap tour. Enjoy. Warning the Waiheke buses are boneshakers.

If you have a clear day, my suggestion would be to go up the Sky Tower for fantastic views over Auckland (and as far as the Coromandel if it is very clear).

Fullers do a range of ferry tours around the harbour and the Hauraki Gulf:

I have never tipped in NZ. It never seemed expected of me.

Tipping is not expected in NZ and prices are set to reflect this. Sometimes it is appreciated for exceptional service (although you will occasionally find people returning your tips - this probably wouldn't happen in Auckland though, or as often as in the past).
