Default OK, things have gotten desperate in Chch...

We lost our two favorite Thai takeaways in the quakes and my Thai cooking skills, while passable, can't compare to the takeaways we used to have....

Can anybody recommend a great thai takeaway on the South-ish side of the city? We've tried some but....

    In need,

If we were talking Cambodian and West-ish side of the city then I would recommend Khmer Satay Noodle House, 128 Riccarton Rd. I've enjoyed some of the freshest and most fragrant chicken noodle soup there. As for Thai, still working my way round the North-West side

Chang Thai (Victoria Thai Foods) at 21 Shands Road (Hornby) might be a bit far south for you, but worth a visit - takeaways and dine-in. Food is excellent. Phone number is 349 7069.

    Thanks folks,

Will have to remember these when we head out to other parts of town...

RR, The Khmer has a sister noodle house on Papanui. Can't remember the name right now, but the menu is identical. Did have one very good meal there but the second takeaway was really bad!

    Cheers,

Thanks for this thread - tomorrow is my birthday and I had requested Thai for dinner.. but neither of us knew where to get it from! Looks like it'll be a trip to Hornby
