    Default essential skills work visa

Hello, I am applying for the work visa under essential skills category. What kind of dependent visa is required for family?

You'll find mention of dependent children here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ply/essential/

And for your partner, you need to look at a partner sponsored temporary work visa - this can be put in at the same time as your own, with a supporting letter linking the two applications. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...milystream.htm

Alternatively I think just a tourist visa with a validity date as yours; not sure though.

Thanks for your replies. JandM - It is now bit clear to me that my wife would require form 1146.

Still I can't find a form for dependent children aged 5&1. If we go as a tourist/visitor, I am not sure if my daughter will be able to go to school.

You need a student visa for the school-age daughter - there's a link on that page I sent you before.

Many thanks. I was reading about the student visa and it mentinned mainly about universities etc.

Will I have to pay fee for my daughter to go to school? My initial job offer is for 2 years.

NZ state schools have a system of 'donations' to help finance peripheral matters, which everybody pays (well, almost - see old threads), but apart from that, once your daughter has her student visa, you won't have to pay for her, unless you decide to send her to a private school. http://www.minedu.govt.nz/Parents/Al...Donations.aspx
