Default Getting married in Auckland (spot locations)

    Hi,

Myself (a pom) and my kiwi fiancée are planning to get married in September. We had hoped to get married in the UK, but because of the strict UK wedding rules, we will get married quietly here. Shortly after, we will fly over to the UK for a proper ceremony (Renewal of Vows) with everyone there.

I am trying to find a special location in Auckland where we could say our vows in front of a Celebrant, with lovely views that it’s cheap/free? Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    Claire

Depends on what you mean by cheap.

My Step Brother and his wife got married in the Botanical Gardens.

    Thanks for the recommendation Kiwijo.

If we are wanting a Celebrant, we would have to find a venue. Don't want a big thing as it will be only us two, two witnesses and of course a Celebrant so not willing to pay lots of $$$ just to say the vows/sign the paper.

Just thought if anyone might know somewhere...

Can't help you with a location, but my cousin is a Celebrant and I can recommend her! She's in Pukekohe, Auckland and may be able to help you with a location too.

The views don't get much better than those from Mount Victoria or North Head in Devonport.

Are beaches free in Auckland? We got married on a beach on the Coromandel and didn't have to pay any council fee, the celebrant was $120 and then there was the wedding licence. All up our wedding & honeymoon was $5000, I think the biggest individual wedding expenses were our rings, which we got from a discount jeweller.

    Good luck!

Sis got married on Onetangi beach on Waiheke Island. Was beautiful. And apart from the celebrant's cost, that bit was free.

My Fiancee and I are getting married in December 2015 on Rangitoto Island. My question is , if the weather turns crap and the ferry service can't sail, then we are looking for a suitable outdoor place on the mainland Auckland central to get married, any ideas or suggestions would be great, thanks. Free would be awesome.
