Default confusion with the education assessments

    Hello,
Good Evening Guys, I've been doing such an extensive research regarding the education assessments in NZ, and the results that I got had me nothing but totally confused. now I'm doing my MS.c degree in Malaysia and I'm planning to apply to the NZ skilled immigrant program in the next couple of weeks if not days, but what I would like to know is how I'm going to be assessed regarding my education
I'm doing MSc in computer science, specialised in wireless telecommunication in the university Putra of Malaysia
and I had my Bachelor from Iraq, also in computer science, university of Mosul.
now the question is, how am I going to be assessed ?
is it going to be based on my MSc, or bachelor's or both or what exactly ? and the points that I'm going to gain will be for the MSc or for the bachelor, both or the last one ?
and how long it's going to take, and can I know which is exempted? I've viewed the original website http://www.immigration.govt.nz/ and I did lots of searching in it but the results were very vague and unclear
I shall be highly grateful to anyone who will clarify that mystery
    Thanks

    Hi M_Saint,

You are currently studying for your Masters, aren't you? Which means your degree is not completed yet?
And you also currently have a Bachelors degree plus another Masters?
Then both your degrees will be assessed and given points. If you studied in countries listed by the NZ immigration >>>> http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ndguides/lorq/

See the link qualifications Exempt from assessment.
IF it is not there..then you might need to assess your degrees from the NZQA.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

let me be more descriptive if I may, I have a bachelor's degree that I took in 2008, and now I'm about to finish my MSc in the next couple of weeks so I will apply when I finish my MSc. therefore, my question right now is, Am I going to be evaluated based on my Msc or bachelor's? or both, or only based on the last one which is in this case my Msc ?
I've been looking in the site you have listed above it's kinda of very big and sometimes I found myself very lost in it.
any help shall be greatly appreciated, thank you

On the day of lodging your application, you will be assessed based on whatever qualifications you have.

    For example
    1. you decide to lodge your application today then you can claim points for only Bachelors (do get the qualification assessed by NZQA if your university is not among the list of exemption)

    2. You decide to lodge your application after receiving results of MS then you can claim points for only Bachelors & Masters (again....do get the qualification assessed by NZQA if your university is not among the list of exemption)

Here's one thread that will give you idea of how the process works:

    Hope that helps!

You pasted same question in two different threads. I replied in other thread. Please start your own post rather than pasting in other posts.

People mostly come into the site via New Posts, so they don't miss something that has arrived since their last visit. If you don't immediately get a reply, it's probably because the people who have an answer aren't online at the time - don't forget members are in all time zones, some of which are wildly different from yours, so they won't be posting in the middle of their night, or while they're working, even though you're at leisure in your country.
