Default Sumitting ITA in spite of Medical condition

Just got a call from doctor on my medical report, something is not quite normal...much higher than the normal range.

I am thinking to lodge the ITA with it and anyway INZ will come back with a request to see the specialist..and it may take months to have my ITA assessed or referred to MA and by that time I will keep seeing specialist and take medicine to bring the item down.....

    Any suggestion please?

If you do get referred to MA, they may ask for additional tests. If the MA comes to conclusion that an individuals health condition is going to cost > $25,000 in next 4 years only then they decline the application. I guess you should be fine with some tests not coming normal.

Many people on this forum have got medical waivers even though they had many serious health issues. All the best

    Hi there,
Answer would largely depend on what that "something" in the medical is? (it'll help to answer much clearly).

If it is related to BMI then a fitness regime would help but if its more serious nature or requires medication then you might get into different position altogether.

My ALT level came out to be quite high. Doctor called me and said like it is 70 or so... I will go and get my report tomorrow. Also, doctor told me I have to see specialist and go for some medicine to bring it down but it may months...so, I do not want to wait for months to lodge the application. I would like to lodge it now and let my ITA be in quequ and they sure will defer it to MA...and MA will ask for some tests again..by that time I hope I will get better and send the report....

This is my plan.... Hope you can shade more lights on it per your experience...

I think your plan is good. Get the application in now, and then if the MA wants more reports from your doctor, there will already be a medical history about this point - he will be able to report that investigation has shown x, y treatment has begun, and z results are showing up. This will save time.

Another thought. ALT levels can vary because of different causes, not only an illness - they can result from the body fighting off a small infection, or your having done a lot of exercise shortly before the sample was taken, or your taking certain medications. It may turn out after all that this raised level is not a sign of a condition needing long treatment.

    hi klt,

both of our reports are referred because of ALT level, we are just waiting.. my wife level was 47.. as jandm said, it is not always because of hep C or any big illness..

stick with your plan, this is what i did.. but i suggest you to undergo HEP C test and submit it along with your medicals as it may help you..

Regarding the application being declined if the expenses coming to more than 25,000 dollars for the next four years, I was wondering what if the applicant showed that he or she has the funds available lets say 50,000 in excess to what is required. That means that the applicant would be able to provide for oneself in case of medical treatment. Will that be considered?

    No, it can't be. http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread....548#post433548
