Default Matcha Tea and Almond Milk

    Hello,

I have finally weaned myself off coffee, after being a health nut all my life (except for the coffee), and I've switched over to Matcha tea, instead. It occurred to me that Matcha tea might be rare or hard to find in New Zealand. Here, in Victoria, Canada, it's popping up in trendy cafes all over.

The same goes for almond milk. I can't have dairy or soy, but I love those Matcha tea almond milk lattes! I currently live quite spoiled, in that I can purchase pre-packaged organic almond milk here, even at small convenience stores. Has anybody even heard of almond milk and matcha tea in NZ? Or is NZ ahead of the game in this regard?

    Thanks,
    Jessica

I don't think you'll find matcha tea readily available in cafes etc, but you should be able to get some from online tea suppliers or specialist tea shops.

I haven't seen almond milk, but then I've not looked very hard. Again, I doubt you'll find it readily available- rice and oat milk can be bought from main supermarkets.

I'm not aware of Matcha tea.

Almond milk is available here in Dunedin at Taste Nature; you might want to check also Hemp milk, my wife's favourite.

We call it the green tea here in SG. You can find online tea merchants who ships internationally.

I'll definitely pack my collection of tea over when I move..

My understanding is that Matcha tea is a particular green tea, different to the ordinary one which is easily available here.

Just out of curiosity. Is it because dairy is bad for health or just because of smell and taste?
