Hi everyone!
Prior to getting my WTR approval last January 2, I had discussion with my current employer (from overseas) about the possibility of hiring me from NZ to continue my work with them. But since their branch in NZ has closed down 4 years ago and the closest one they have is from Australia, I consulted my CO about the eligibility of an employment from an Australian company in NZ. I was told that an arrangement like that will not satisfy the 3 months employment required to decide on my deferred residence application, after that I ditched the idea and decided to just look for another job in NZ.
After I told them recently that I got my visa, they decided they still want to hire me from NZ, but through a consulting firm. So basically, they will partner with consulting firm who will hire me and work for them as client, technically that sounds perfectly OK to satisfy the 3 months requirement. But the firm we're talking to right now is ALSO based in Australia, I was able to talk to the boss of the consulting firm and he seems determined to hire me, I told him about the requirement of employer being NZ-based and he said that he can go and register his company in NZ and make it a done deal.
Do you see any risks to my immigration if I take the offer? It seems like it's perfectly legal and as long as I satisfy the 3 month requirement working for an NZ employer, I should get my residence approved.
Thanks everyone in advance!
