Default Can my Partner travel first?

    Hi All,
Since our EOI status is approved without any conditions, Can my OH travel first and search for a job in NZ. Or Is it mandatory that Principal applicant also needs to travel along with secondary applicant to NZ?

    Regards,
    Nirmal

    Hi,
Your partner or rest of the family (included in your application) can travel first but your 2 year period for PR (old term IRRV) starts once your arrive in the country.

How about if you have a WTR instead of Residence Visa sir?

Is your partner still allowed to land first than the principal applicant?

Visa valid for further travel for 24 months(s) from the first arrival. Initial stay subject to grant of entry permission. Visa is invalid if holder is outside NZ with expired travel conditions. Please apply transfer of this visa when the passport expires.

Same conditions are present in my visa as well.

That's the normal wording for a Residence visa. It won't be the same on one for a Job Search (old WTR) visa, which tops5450 was asking about.

Just got a reply from helpdesk @ Immigration.
Please be informed that there are no restrictions on the partner travelling first if need be.

nz_newbie and partner have Residence visas, having gone through Skilled Migrant, and INZ say it is all right for the partner to enter first in that situation.

I was asking YOU what is the wording on your partner's visa, if it is a WTR.
