Default Job for OH and daughters wanted in Rotorua please

Well, we've been here 5 days now and I have decreed that they all need to get a job lol!

Not really......they all want to work and I would be really grateful if anyone in the area knows of anything going.
We've bought the local paper and searched TradeMe, OH has appled for several positions.

He's ex British Army (26 years in) and has lots of management experience. He also has knowledge of satellite installation. Basically he can turn his hand to anything.
Eldest daughter has worked in a nightclub as a bar supervisor for 2 years and has accounting experience in the wages office.
Youngest has recently left school and decided college is not for her....any suggestions?

    Any job info gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Welcome to Rotorua!

The best days for the Daily Post for jobs is Wednesday and Saturday (the so-called jobs days), I second looking on Trade Me as not all jobs are advertised in the paper these days. You can also search on www.seek.co.nz and nzherald.co.nz

Retail jobs are usually advertised in shop windows and filled that way if your youngest wants to go that way.

As for your eldest, there's a new nightclub that has just opened called Heaven and Hell, it's on Arawa St opposite Rotorua Primary School. But I'm guessing that she might not want to be in that industry forever.

The biggest employers in the city are Rotorua District Council, Scion (formerly Forest Research Institute, a crown-owned institute specialising in forestry), and Lakes District Health Board (Rotorua Hospital is its largest site). Other big employers are Hayes International (engineering) and Damar (they do aerosol stuff).

There are heaps of small businesses so it might just be a case of trawling the streets (industrial area is predominantly off Old Taupo Rd - View Rd, Tallyho St).

Hope they find something they like doing.

She might need a manager's certificate to do this.

    She could look into Polytechnic.

Thanks, she has just handed a CV into H&H so fingers crossed there. Youngest is still looking for something suitable.
OH has been on Seek etc and has applied for lots of stuff, waiting to hear back

How does she get this here?

She has looked but isn't keen on any of the courses unfortunately.
