20 days after the interview, finally received ITA for WTR from Beijing branch. It's not what I expected, but what can I say? It's really not easy to get PR from Beijing branch.

Congratulations for the opportunity, and sympathy that it wasn't Residence straight off.
Hi there,
I got straight PR without job offer from Beijing.
All the best with next steps SaiKai
The Job Search visa (present day name for what used to be called WTR>PR) does not give the right to visas matching in time for other family members. If the main applicant gets their job offer, and therefore their Residence visa, the family members get Residence as well at that point. Family members could go to NZ as well, on visitors' visas, if they can get them, while the main applicant is job hunting, but they would not be allowed to work.if given a WTR, can you still be able to bring your dependents/partner with you?
You're getting mixed up between the Job Search visa, which you CAN be offered as a result of interview near the end of the Skilled Migrant process, which USED TO BE called WTR as well... and Work To Residence visas, which are something you can apply for separately, with particular qualifications.
For Job Search under the Skilled Migrant process, the applicant has a work visa which runs nine months from arrival in the country. S/He can take any job to support themself, but only if they obtain the offer of a skilled job in the skill they have offered and shown qualifications for on their EOI can they go back to INZ and be granted the Residence they applied for in the first place. Here's the INZ operational manual on the subject.http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/index.htmWR5 Skilled Migrant Category Job Search Instructions
Subject to WR5 (b) below, principal applicants under the Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) who have been assessed by an immigration officer as having demonstrated they can realise their potential to successfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand, may be granted a work visa and entry permission for the purpose of obtaining an offer of ongoing skilled employment in New Zealand
If the principal applicant is in New Zealand and currently holds, or in the last 24 months has held, a work visa granted under the WD Study to Work instructions then they are not eligible for a work visa under these instructions.
Principal applicants may be granted a work visa allowing a stay of nine months (refer WR5.5) if the requirements set out at WR5 (d), (e), (f) and (g) below are met.
An application for a work visa must be made within three months of the date of the letter from INZ advising that the principal applicant may be eligible for the grant of that work visa.
Applicants must provide evidence that they have sufficient funds to maintain themselves for a period of at least three months in New Zealand, such funds being:
(if they have pre-paid accommodation) a sum of NZ$400, per month; and
(if they do not have pre-paid accommodation) a sum of NZ$1,000 per month.
Applicants must also provide evidence that they have sufficient funds to purchase an outward ticket from New Zealand for themselves.
Work visas granted under these instructions will allow work for any employer in New Zealand.
For Work to Residence, the qualifications are here. This is the one you're talking about in your last post. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra.../caniworkinnz/
